OK, I've been slacking on the topic of the day lately... So, what do you love and hate about Christmas. Share your top 10 likes and dislikes.

                                           LOVE

1. Christmas music .. Oh Holy Night and Ave Maria are my faves, but just about any Christmas song makes me smile. i think they should play it year round.

2. Black Friday. Yes I am one of the few people that love getting out in a crowd for a super bargain.

3.Turkey and Dressing. You don't get it much except holidays.

4. The Salvation Army Bell Ringers

5. Riding around looking at Christmas lights.

6. Getting off work.

7. Buying the perfect gift for my son and watching him do the hallelujah dance when he opens it.

8. Wrapping presents.

9. Being cold and snuggling on the couch.

10. Day after Christmas Sales!!!!!!!!!! Half off everything yahooooo!

                                           HATE

1. Stores without enough cashiers or merchandise.

2. Watching the 10 commandments. How boring.

3. Praise a thon on TBN (using Christmas to solicit money). Why doesn't Jan take off that pink wig and all that damned make-up???

4. Rain on shopping days.

5. Being broke in January

6. Standing in line Dec 26 to return all the dud gifts I receive.

7. Trying to find a gift for my grandma. She doesn't like or need anything!!!

8. Having to go for Christmas Eve dinner at my grandmas. Always stressful and always some drama because you didn't come early enough, don't stay late enough, don't socialize enough, don't eat enough. I just want to scream ENOUGH! ENOUGH! ENOUGH! I'm calling out sick this year. I just can't take it.

9. Robberies and crime. Our house was broken into one Christmas Eve as a child. I still haven't gotten over it. I hate that crime increases around the holidays.

10. The 3.7 people that are killed on the highways every year...

I love all the same things you love but I will add Christmas shows and movies.  Anything and everything from Routolf the red nose raindeer to Santa is comming to town, Island of the misfits... and Frosty.  I love them all!!!  I live for them.  I love the 25 days of christmas channel and dare my husband to not allow me to partake of my Christmas show adiction!!   LOL

I also love the movies that are made around Christmas the ones with Tim Allen and the Christmas shoes one.  Yes they make me cray but I just livefor that for some reason... LOL

HATES:  The crazy things like Holiday trees and the non wishing you Merry Christmas.. Makes me crazy!

THINGS I HATE:

1.  Cashiers/bank tellers/other people you meet in public who wish me a "Merry Christmas".  "Happy Holiday" is much more appropriate...and even appropriate for those who don't celebrate anything, since you are celebrating the "holiday season".

I LOVE wrapping gifts.

I LOVE baking.

I LOVE  a white CHRISTMAS, though I haven't had one since I moved to GA

I LOVE the stories of people coming together to help those in need

I LOVE It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story

I HATE when people get their damn panties in a bunch over the word CHRISTMAS.  It really just sours the whole damn thing for me.  I can't stand this "everyone get's a trophy" society we've become.  Damn it, everyone is not gonna be happy and satisfied all the time.  folks can just suck the joy out of anything.  I think it's all ridiculous.  It's just like when people wish me happy mother's day.  I have no kids, but I don't get all pissy.  I just smile, nod and go about my damn business.  OR when I'm having a ****ty morning and someone says "good morning" Well, it may not be good for me, but I just smile, nod and go about my damn business.  If someone happens to celebrate Hanukkah or Kwanzaa fine, great.  If I'm aware of it I'd wish you a happy friggn Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, but in the mean time, why the hell should my CHRISTMAS be less merry?  I used to work with a Jewish man.  He always participated in office Christmas festivities and wished everyone a Merry Christmas because that's what we celebrated and he respected that.  I would ALWAYS buy him a Hanukka card and wish him a Happy Hanukka, but he didn't get all ****ty because no one else did.

The fact of the matter is that all the hoopla IS over CHRISTMAS.

Towns do not put up fantastical light displays for Hanukkah or Kwanzaa
Banks do not close for Hanukkah or Kwanzaa
You don't get days off of work for Hanukkah or Kwanzaa
There are no parades for Hanukkah or Kwanzaa
There are no Hanukkah or Kwanzaa songs played on the radio

You do however get all that for CHRISTMAS

*SIGH*  That's my rant for today, that said,

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Yeah!  I mean, don't they realize that if they all just did things YOUR way, we'd all get along just fine!  Is that so darn difficult?

BTW, you actually know someone who is Jewish???

I'll assume you're being sarcastic because I didn't say that at all.  And yes, I not only know but am friends with several Jewish people

At Hanukkah, I enjoy shopping for gifts....I enjoy wrapping gifts...I love family coming together to celebrate the holiday.  I enjoy helping people in need (this year, as in several years past, I donated toys for Clark's Xmas Kids - gifts for children in foster care).  I enjoy watching holiday movies (I'm a sucker for the kids movies but enjoy It's a Wonderful Life just as much).

I HATE people who shove xmas and Christianity down your throat!  I AM NOT ASKING THAT YOUR CHRISTMAS BE LESS MERRY!  I'M ASKING YOU TO RESPECT THAT NOT EVERYONE  CELEBRATES XMAS!

I appreciate when someone who knows me goes out of their way to get me a Hanukkah card even though it might be the only one they have to buy.  I appreciate when someone makes an effort to send a "Season's Greetings" card and not an Xmas card especially if they don't know me that well.

Who says there aren't Hanukkah light displays???  Who says they don't play Hanukkah songs on the radio?  Okay, we don't have a Hanukkah parade.  You are right that we don't get off of work for Hanukkah.  Hanukkah is a fun, festive, holiday.  Schools and other govt office should be closed in Sept/Oct for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.  These are the most holy days of the Jewish calendar.  It's a shame I actually have to call in to work "sick" for these holidays.  "In the North" (NY, NJ, etc) they actually do close the schools.  Schools should also be closed for a week in late March/early April (which usually does not coincide with Spring Break here) because they are required to serve balanced meals in the cafeteria...Jews can't eat bread during Passover.  "In the North" Spring Break usually coincides with Passover.

With that, have a MERRY ******' CHRISTMAS!
