Good morning!

I just moved to GA from FLA and I'm hoping to find a hospital (not too awful far away) that offers post op support group meetings.  I'm in Pickens County, so I'm expecting to travel some!

I'm 3 years post op RNY.

Thanks - and have a great Friday!
Jeanne

I attend a group at Wellstar hospital on Wendy Hill Road.  There is also one at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.  You can check out Dr. Dennis Smith's website to get particulars.  They are both north Atlanta.

I liive East of Atlanta.  I would like to find a group for graduates out this way.   There are a couple for mixed groups that I attend and enjoy, but I need help with the dreaded 'regain.'

HI,

I'd be interested in this group.  Unlike you I never hit my goal.  I stopped losing at 9 months.  Didn't budge but up and down 10 or so pounds and now have put on 19 pounds from my lowest weight of 195.  I was even thinking I need a revision.

I have thought  about a revision, but I know probably no doctor would consider it.  Also, I do not think I want to go back to surgery, so I will have to deal with my situation.  I am only 5'1" but I look okay.  I am just afraid I will be in your shoes in time.  I need a support group for my situation.  Most of the groups are for new people.  They all need to talk about making the big decision, insurance and which surgery to have.  I need a group who weighs me on a regular basis and gives ideas how to handle my regain.  I am thinking about joining a commercial group who will weigh me, etc. once a week.  I have never been able to follow a diet, but I am thinking of trying one more time.  I know all the talk about going back to basis and exercising, but it has worked for me.

I left out a work in the last sentence.  Basis and Exercising has NOT worked for me.

That's exactly how I feel!   There are no long term people out there that meet.   I was on a board this morning considering doing those pre-packaged  pre-cooked meals like Hour Glass Meals or Fresh N Fit. I bought medi fast but couldn't commit. And I know WW doesnt work for me or I won't work for it. I just hate the vibe there plus to  high carb for someone like us.

The one support group that tried organizing near me fizzled out fast I haven't had much hope from them.

I am considering FirstPlace4Health.  The group starts up in January in my area of town.  It is a Christain program (Baptist I think.)  I have told myself that all these programs do not have enough protein, etc., but then I thought well for a short time i would be okay especially if I keep up my vitamins.  I drink lots of protein drink.  My protein level is probably over the top now.  That may be part of my problem--too many calories from protein drinks.  We went on a cruise a few months ago.  I ate like a normal person and did not gain.  My weight went back after I got home.  What does that tell you???  lol   You can check out the program I mentioned online, if you are interested.
