Dr Robert Richard
If this is who I am thinking of.. I considered using him years ago (ins was a full exclusion) so I was unable to have the suregery. He went overseas or somehting in the military for a while if this is the same dr Im thinking of. I heard he was really good. Good luck on your search!
Starting Weight: 325; Pre Surgery Weight: 314
Dr. Richard was my surgeon and I highly recommend him and his practice. The reason I went with Obesity Solutions was the educational aspect and the confidence in the surgeon. There are extensive educational requirements covering pre and post nutritional requirements, expectations after surgery, etc. I have friends who had this done elsewhere who left the hospital without any clue of what they could and could not eat.
The after care was awesome and there are designated people in the office to help you with everything from insurance requirements to all the questions you have. They are great about calling you back if you have any questions too.
I started out by going to an informational seminar after a good friend had lost a huge amount of weight. I was very impressed with Dr. Richard's knowledge, skill level and also the fact that he has extensive knowledge in surgeries other than gastric bypass. I figured if I had any complications he was THE MAN! My concerns were unfounded and I didn't even require pain medication post op. I was sore (like I'd went a few rounds with Foreman) but I never had "pain".
My largest concern was blood clots from all the research I did. I continually asked the nursing staff at the hospital if I could walk yet. Once they allowed me to get up I walked long distances in the hospital to insure I didn't end up with a clot.
I highly recommend Dr. Richard and the folks at Obesity Solutions. He listens and genuinly cares about the state of his patients, both emotionally and physically. Go to a seminar and decide for yourself. There are lots of surgeons that perform this surgery but that is only one part of it. If you don't know what or how to eat when its over, your success could be hampered.

I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY GALLBLADDER AND WANT HIM TO TAKE IT WHEN HE DOES THE SURGERY AND NOT HAVE TO HAVE TWO, I DO HOPE THIS WORKS OUT I AM TRYING TO WAIT BUT HAVING LOTS OF PAIN.
IT IS GREAT YOU HAD NO PAIN AFTER SURGERY AND WERE ANXIOUS TO GET UP AND WALK AROUND IM SURE YOU ARE STILL DOING GOOD
