I am interested in getting information on a revision.  I have recently heard about some sort of intestinal tube that someone had as a revision after having rny.  do any of you know anything about it?  how hard is it to get a revision done?  Thanks for your help!

I had the rny nearly 8 years ago and it was wonderful! I lost 140 pounds and everything was perfect.  Then I got pregnant (which was also wonderful), but I also had really bad morning/all day sickness.... the only way I could feel ok was through snacking on crackers. After 7+ months of this I had formed some really bad habits and after all was said and done I gained back 60 pounds after I gave birth. I have been trying to get it undercontrol with every diet in the book for the past 6 years and no luck.   I am horrifiyed that I may go back to the way I was.  I am very unhappy where I am now!

Try posting this question on the revision board. Check your insurance to see if it covers revisions.  Most of them will cover revision if they covered the wls.  The intestinal tube may be excluded as "experimental". I never heard of any insurances covering it.

Dr. Dennis Smith does a procedure called Stomaphyx (sp?).  I don't know if this is what you're talking about, but I know it's for revisions only.
Check out his Web site at www.advancedobesitysurgery.com.  He has a lot of info on the procedures he does.  Maybe this is what you're talking about.

What I think your talking about is the stomaphyx and if you google Dr. Dennis Smith in Marietta GA you will come accross his advanced obesity website where you can view the stomaphyx proceedure.

Hope this helps,

Jenna
