HEY ROXY - quick question for ya'.
I'd be happy to chat in more detail about it if you like, although I'm sure youve talked to others who had my procedure. I will say this...and there is NO JUDGEMENT behind it - I'm only sharing.
When I went in 5 days after my RNY to have my drain tube and disgusting lil baggie pulled out I was sitting in the waiting room and there was another patient there with her hubby and daughter. She asked what I had done and I told her. I asked what she had done and she told me the Lapband. She'd had it for quite some time (I mean like almost a year or so) and she HAD NOT LOST ONE POUND. NOT ONE.
The lapband is GREAT if you have will power, but if any of us had it we would not need medical intervention to begin with - this is my personal opinion, so don't bash me upside the head LOL.
As I'm sure you already know, the band allows you to keep eating the SAME food, just smaller portions or just not as fast. Sweets, fried foods, milkshakes, cookies, pizza, THE WORKS!
The RNY does not allow for this wonderful madness.
Everyone has their own path to walk and I'm sure you will do what is best for you.
What does your doc say?

If I was 100% for the band I wouldn't be confused..lol..
Well, I have consultations with 2 different surgeons the first one this friday with Dr. Macik and the second on the 12th with Dr. Steinberg who I think I am leaning towards and whose seminar I went to in Nov. I just don't want to do something to my body that can't be reversed after they find out something may be wrong b/c my organs are rerouted. I don't mind working to loose, I actually loose but I always reward myself after a few pounds i want the band to be a tool to stop that. But how do people cheat with the restriction?
