Finding a Dr. is like College

This researching doctors is like doing a research paper. I mean I am doing so much research I feel like I can write a paper on GA physicians. Not knocking any Dr's but one of the Dr's I am researching had a drug addiction, this is public knowledge would you use him? I know we are all humans and people make mistakes, it appears he relapsed at one time but is recovering nicely now should this deter me?

I know which one you are talking about with the drug problem.  While the attachment to his license is not new, I've heard through the grapevine that he has continued to have issues.  On top of that, I've never noted his name in the provider directory of any insurance I've had over the last 5 or so years.  Maybe some insurance companies aren't credentialing him due to the drug use?  No, I would not use him.

Way to go girl, this is what is all about.  I looked on the site you found and was shocked at the Dr you were talking about.  While I know people can change, just not sure what I would do.

I agree it is CRAZY and scary. Finding a surgeon is finding someone you will be trusting with your life. Not only do you have to like their personality, but you also need to trust their skill level. Not to mention whether you can follow their program requirements and get decent service from their administrative staff. I pray I will make a wise decision, and have no regrets afterwards.

Could you PM me the name of the surgeon withthe drug problem? I couldn't pull it up from the link you attached.

Not to mention all the research you have to do to figure out which procedure is best for you...b/c this is not a one size fits all kind of thing... not to be all cliche-ish... but

they say... ANY thing worth having at all is worth working for and waiting for..

So right now, I'm waiting.. and after the surgery comes the working.. or something like that..

I wish I knew that information. I am also looking for a DR. I've gone to about 4 different Dr's Seminars and I and I am still confused. I might scratch Dr,.D( I did think he was on his "A" game when I attended he seemed a little tipsy....I could be wrong.. I don't want to chance it though) and Dr. C (because he cost an extra out of pocket fee of $5,000.00) The other two I heard great and bad things about but I need help. I've been wanting this for too dang on long to back out now! Roxy please email me so we can put our heads togewther and figure something out.

I know girl you can say that again!!  I researched for over 4 years off and on NO KIDDING!@!! Read my profile and you will understand why!   I started my process with this very DR I believe you are speaking of.  Yes people make mistakes but do you want to put yourself in the hands of someone that you are not positive that is capable of taking care of you?  I say NO. But that is ME.

Anyone who has had a successful surgery of what ever type will tell you their DR is the greatest!! And for good reason they changed our lives!  I think that my DR is the greatest for more than that reason!! Dr Hart.  Johns Creek Hospital was so beautiful and I have never ever been treated so wonderful in my life!  I was Queen for the few days I was there!  Wishing you best of luck in your decision!  Make sure you talk to LOTS of people and ask LOTS of questions and you will make the right decision based on your confort level.  I would deffinantly tell you to look for Dr with CENTER OF EXCELLANCE!

I haven't come across Dr. Hart in my research I may need to look him up and see about him. Dr. Steinburg who I went to the seminar is a Center for Excellence for my current insurance and my new insurance as well.

Im not very familuar with him but Cent of Excellance is a great start!!
