Does Kaiser of Georgia

Did she say how many times she had to see her.  I mean she told me I needed to make my children (whom by the way are teenagers) have dinner ready when I get home.  Then she turned around and used it against me in our group meeting.  I told her she wasn't being fair, because she had just told me this in our private meeting earlier that evening.  Sorry to dump all  of this on you, I guess I am impatient, but for her to assume that I need 10 meetings with her without her even knowing me, is a bit much, if you ask me.  I have had at least 4 one on one meetings with her and 1 group meeting and it hasn't gotten any better.  Linda, I dont know what I will do if she takes this thing longer then it needs to go.  Thanks for listening........Your surgery is coming up soon.....are you excited?  Be sure to give me the blow by blow details, talk to ya soon.......

I Gwen.  My friend KeKe said that she had to meet with her 10 times.  I'm sure this is an insurance requirement and not personal.  It sounds horrible.  I'm so glad I didn't have to do that.  I didn't like the one meeting I had.  If I was you, I would just make it as easy as you can for yourself.  Don't get upset with her.  Don't do anything to affect the outcome.  You want the surgery - keep that in mind.  Just try to get though it as best you can causing the least amount of conflict so that you can get one more step closer to surgery.  Think of it like each meeting is one more step closer.  I think she is just putting you on.  I think it is an insurance requirement for the 10 sessions. 
I went for a trendmill test yesterday morning and was cleared for surgery.  Then I meet with Dr. Macik and his nurse.  I signed consent forms and got all my instructions for what to do the day before surgery and the day of surgery.  Then I had to go to the hospital for pre-admission.  I started out early in the am and left Northside Hosp at 4:30.  Traffic was so bad, I decided to get something to eat and do alittle shopping.  At 6:15 it was still bad.  I didn't get home until 8:30.  All I wanted to do was get home.  Surgery is one week from today.  Wow.  I'm starting to get a little nervous.  Just a little.  I told Dr. Macik that he has to take care of me and make sure nothing goes wrong..............   He looked at me like I was crazy.  Hang in there. 

I had to see Ann Hixson 10 times too but thats what Kaiser make you do. Next month I have to go to Cardiac, Upper GI, Ultra Sound, and Pulmonary. My VSG is set for 1/14/2008. Try to make most of the meeting group.

I heard that Macik is not the friendliest but he is a very competent surgeon.  I am sure you will be fine.  I know a couple of people at work who has had the surgery with Macik already, and they seem to be doing fine.  Linda I am prepared to stick it out with the Pyscho and thanks for all of your encouragement.  Thanks for keeping me posted on your journey........     

I met Dr. Macik for the first time on Tuesday.  I had heard he was more on the "business-like" side, not necessarily a warm-fuzzy doctor, but then again remember most surgeons aren't warm-fuzzy kind of people. 

Anyway, I liked Dr. Macik.  I think his sense of humor is on the dry side.  But mom and I made him smile (we have that effect on docs).  And so far, his office staff is with it.  We think we'll have everything to submit in JANUARY!!!!!  WOOT WOOT!

Nope, that wasn't me.  My appointment was at 4:15pm.  I was there with my mom, who is in a wheelchair.
