Support group in Kennesaw or Marietta?

Just a quick introduction and a request for help. I'm Tsunami and 43 years old and have been fighting my weight for the last 10 years or so.  I'm currently awaiting a surgery date for VSG.  I will be having my surgery done through the Emory Bariatrics Clinic.  I would love to attend some support group meetings but the logistics of getting over to Emory on Clifton Road every month is daunting... so I'm looking for something closer to home.    So if anyone knows of any support groups meeting in Kennesaw or Marietta please send the information my way.  I'm hoping I can meet some sleevers because I haven't met anyone IRL who has one yet.

Hey, cant help you with a support group in Marietta or Kennesaw, but I did have Dr Lin for my Realize band surgery and I feel your pain on trying to get way out on the east side of Atlanta for the support group.  Depending on when your group is scheduled maybe we can do some carpooling.

I live in Kennesaw and work in Marietta.  Wellstar hospital hosts a support group monthly.  I keep planning to go but haven't yet.  There's supposed to be a meeting the second Sat of every month at 9am.  Call this number for more info.  770-919-7050

Thanks for the information.  I'll give Wellstar a call.  I live in Acworth but work in Marietta.  I had been looking for support group that I could attend right after work during the week or on weekends. 

I'm guessing my surgery date will be sometime next month... so I will attend one Emory support meeting prior to surgery and after surgery I will attend one closer to home.

I also live in Acworth, and am having my surgery today with Dr Dennis Smith.  His website is http://advancedobesitysurgery.com/faq.asp and has support groups posted.  They meet three times a month and are very informative.  They have them at all the WellStar hospitals in the area.  Good Luck on your upcoming surgery :)  Sarah
