Where are you planning to have surgery?

There are wonderful support group meetings here, if you are interested in attending one.  Octobers was tonight, but Novembers will be on the 4th.  (First Tuesday) at the hospital.

I am plannning on having it in Brunswick by Dr. Henderson/ Dr Kent I am attending a seminar Saturday...Did they do your surgery? And if so how are you doing and all the good and bad stuff i would love to hear..

I did not have my surgery here, but the support group has been very  welcoming to me.  I have heard wonderful things about the seminar, I hope you get a lot out of it!

My story is mostly good - no real bad stuff. I am lucky

Hey I am from Wrightsville Ga. I just had the realize band done on the !0th of this month. I have done fine. Not much pain at all. I had antcipated pain worse than this. I also prayed real hard about the decision to have the surgery. And my prayers have been answered. I had my surgery in Augusta GA. DR. M. Blaney done it. He is a wonderful surgeon.

So whats the worst part?? Do you have alot of brain hungar?
You are still on liquids then?
i go wednesday for the final ok or not..i pray my insurance will ok it..if not i will pray for another avenue..
looking forward to hearing about your daily journey..The nurse told me it could be as soon as Nove for my surgery!!(if approved)

I would have to say the worst thing is the gas. Yes I am still on liquids. I am not hungry. I have to make myself eat and drink. I feel real weak at times. When I smell the food that my family is cooking I want some because it smells so good, But again I am not hungry I think that is the head hunger.

I went on a diet after my first office visit with my surgeon. I had to prove to myself that I could lose the weight. I lost 35 lbs before I had the surgery. That has helped me alot. Because I didn't go from eating a full course meal to just clear liquids. Dr. Blaney said since I had already lost that weight before the surgery that I would not lose as fast as everyone else that did not diet before the surgery. A lot of people couldn't understand why I still wanted to have the surgery because I was losing the weight on my own. It is hard to explain that the weight just comes right back.TTYS
