Im nearly 7 weeks post opp and have not experience any problems for the most part.   On Thursday of last week I was released to eat most solids.  Last night I had a small piece of grilled salmon, small salad and a couple pieces of grilled squash and zucchini (Sp).
At around 4 this am I woke up with diarrhea and had it throughout the rest of the am.   I still feel queasy and blah/yuck.  diarrhea is still with me too.
Is this dumping?   Do I have a bug??

Morning Ginger!

I am over seven years out and I am not sure that I would say that is dumping, it could be, but, what I have experienced with "dumping" is 30 minutes to an hour after I have eaten something that didn't agree, I would have a rapid heart rate with the sweats, feel sick as a dog and the only way that I could get it to pass was to go to bed and lie down. It's an absolute awful feeling.

Let me say this as well, what you are experiencing could be "dumping" to you. I would think that you may of over ate. Nevertheless, take it very slow, as you are still in your "honey moon phase" and you don't want to over do it.

You bet! Thats what the oldies, but goodies are for. We have been there and done that!

Just follow Dr. Hart's plan for wls and you will be fine. He is an excellent doctor. Take your vitamins each and every day because if not, sister girl, thats when you will have serious problems.I take nothing but Shaklee vitamins even to this day this far out out. If I don't eat much, I eat enough to be able to take my vitamins.

Much success in your journey....

Sorry that you are not feeling good.

Dumping is when you have eaten or drank  something sweet.  It is because the sugar gets to your colon to fast.  You throw up when you are dumping.

Frothing is when you throw up because you have not chewed your food enough.  I still throw up occasionally when I try something new, and it does not agree with me.  But as soon as I get it out I am fine.  Just because it is on my list of new foods does not mean I can eat it.  If I try something, that does not work, I wait a few weeks and try it again.

I remember when I ate some solid food when I was new at this, I woke up with the same problems that you are having.  It was in the middle of the night also.  Your stomach is still healing and it could be you ate too much.  Would try some liquids tonight, maybe soup.   While you could have a bug, sounds like what you ate.   Would see how it goes tonight and go from there.

Good luck  Lindy

Thanks so much for the info it was really helpful.  I was feeling much better last night and tried alittle pot roast and carrots.  When I say little I mean little only a couple of bites.  Maybe that was wrong to do cause I was so sick afterwards.  I threw up all night and this am I have the worst headache.  Im just confused if its a bug or if its somthing I did wrong.

While I know all Dr's are different in what they allow you to eat and when.  So the best thing to do it follow your Dr's advice.  Did they give you a book to go by as to when to add new foods?  My Dr does not allow red meat or white meat chicken (except very finely chopped in chicken salad****il after 6 months.   One night I made a roast in the crock pot, I only ate a few bites and threw up.  So I plan on leaving it alone until 6 moths out.

How are you today?  Hope you are feeling better.
