I'm glad it worked out for you... Howver, you are the exception. Their rating as a hospital is very low and they aren't a Center of Excellence.

I think I just need to tell people who arent' aware so they can make a choice. If you find a surgeon he/ she should have privileges at Emory/Northside. If they don't that is not a good sign either.. only certain get privileges.. hence the name.

Oh Curious Cat, I believe you have been misinformed BIG TIME.  I did a lot of research before I had my surgery and I chose North Fulton.  Their Bariatric program is wonderful.  Your surgeon is on staff  there and takes some of his patients there too.  My experience was exceptional and I would do it all again for any surgery I had.  Absolutely everyone was top notch and specifically trained for Bariatrics.  This is a prime example of misinformation being spread like gossip.  Yeah North Fulton

CuriousCat,

I beg to differ with your opinion on North Fulton Regional Hospital. I can do that because I have experience in a various number of hospitals and let me tell you North Fulton ranks the highest. Their facilities, staff and environment is wonderful. You forget you are even in a hospital.

I am not sure how long it has been since you have even been to North Fulton but you are not speaking of the same hospital. This hospital has the best overall attitude for "caring for their patients." The entire staff go out of their way to ensure their patients are comfortable and have a sense of knowing they are in good hands. The nurses are great. I had the pleasure of working with the Bariatric Center and it was truly awesome. They were very informative and are always there when you need them. Kim and Ginger are great! Very informative and help you with any concerns you may have.

How often in todays society do you walk in someone and feel you are just a number---well at North Fulton you are more than a number you are a Patient who they want to ensure your experience is a great one.
I have one of the biggest fears with hospitals and needles and they took the time to make me the most comfortable so I could not be so terrified. They were gentle and caring. They took the time to hear me out and listen and answer any questions or concerns I had. The hospital in general is one of the best. I drove over 50 miles to go there because of their wonderful service. I have been there on 3 occasions and every experience was a great. From the registrations to the bariatric center staff coming and checking on me to my physician, Dr. Williams, having the best bedside manners ever and he has never been to busy to listen and help me with any issues. His credentials are outstanding. The staff as well as Dr. Williams take priority in their patients. They do not want you to be in any discomfort.

I am very sorry that you are stuck on an opinion that is obviously an opinion that comes from an experience from a long time ago so you really should be more enlightened to do better research. I have attached some articles for you to read. I would go to North Fulton Regional anyday over the others. They care about their patients (and their families) and I know they take my best interest before making any decisions going forward. So, take a moment and read the attached documents and futhermore do some more research. When making statements such as these you are not being fair to the wonderful staff at North Fulton--honestly they are wonderful and I personally rate them a 10 with CUSTOMER SERVICE!! If anyone would like to discuss please contact me and I will discuss my experiences with you.

Have a great day!

PS Curiouscat-I am very sorry you feel this way. You are giving up on a great experience with a great realm of wonderful professionals.

Center of Excellence---Please read the statement. CuriousCat truly needs to do some research before stating false statements.

Okay, I'm not here to spread rumors or make false statements or the like.  And I have no experience with their bariatrics program.  But I used to work for NFRH and I feel more comfortable at a different hospital for my upcoming WLS.

That said, I have gone to the ED on 2 or 3 occasions and had good experiences there.

It should also be said the doctors and the hospital are two separate entities.  The doctors are contractors.

Just my $.02 for the day,
-Elli

LOL... that is Tenet's (their own company ) rating them... They are not  a Bariatric Center of Excellence...most insurance companies require a Bariatric Center of Excellence to even have the surgery there...SO please stop passing on erroneous(false ) info to folks...

I'm a very intelligent person who likes to share my knowledge with other people.

ODD!!! My insurance company required that and I had my surgery there.. Please get the facts straight!

As for lawyers and doctors, people are suing people all over the place and doctors are easy targets.

As for you not liking N Fulton, that is your opinion. I have been there three times for admission and have nothing but positive comments for the entire team and stay.

I will not get into a ******g match with you, but I will stand up against you and stand behind this hopsital and everyone on the bariatrics team associated with.

Hi Kevin,

Don't worry with her; she definately needs to understand what being professional is. Having an opinion is one thing but throwing lawyers around to substantiate your opinion does not help brighten your opinion or keep people away from such a great hospital.

Anyway, it appears you and I both have had wonderful experiences and that is all that matters. Curiouscat needs to move on and try and find her real problems within herself and not try to deter individuals away from particular health care facilities.

I am quite sure that if Insurance companies did not feel North Fulton could provide high quality care to patients they would not have credentialed them. But that is besides the point; have a wonderful day.

Hello, let me step in here, Curiouscat I have worked for both HCA who own Emory and Tenet who owns North Fulton and they both have and had their share of problems. Have you done your reserach on HCA and know their back ground? For sometime they were not a Center of Ellecence for the same reason North Fulton is not . This is only for a short period,  I am not able to say at this time. They will be soon however, so please stop bashing hospitals. All of us are Gods children and we make mistakes speaking of whatever you may have went through. Both compaines are good companies to work for and there hospitals are good hospitals but always remeber that there are always reasons that people, companies and any businesses have the rep they do. With are that is going on right now in the world there are so many companies that people are not likeing and that is because something has happen to them. But before the crisi**** that company was the best thing that ever happen to them. So, I don't think that people are bashng you,but the way you came off in your statement"I would not send my cat there" was wrong. You could have broken it down and just explained the reason and showed us the proof you had. Also I have friends that are lawyers as well, they are human too. They don't care about doctors they are looking for a check. They can say what they want about these companys but if they did not handle the situation that the hospital was in and gotten them out of it they do not know anything. HCA who owns Emory had to go 5yrs before they could get that title back. It is something that the government required of them. So things happen mistakes happen because people are human. I have worked in the healthcare field for over 20 years and doctors are not perfect either. There were mistakes done in some of the best hospitals you may not hear of them because people pay to keep it quite. I don't know much about all the hospital here because I am from California but things are the same just different place. Be blessed and please try to word your opinons differently and maybe people will not be offensive.

Be blessed!
