Realize Band !!! Scheduled for 10/23/08

Hello Georgians!!

My first post here, and am scheduled for a Realize Band on 10/23/08!!   My doctor is Dr. Scott Steinberg in Decatur.    I am in Austell, so the drive is long, but he seems to be a great doctor and quite popular.    I am hoping to hear from other bandsters who have had Dr. Steinberg.

I have lab work on the 20th of October and my white blood count runs high on a regular basis and I saw my Primary care doc yesterday and she is all pumped up about my surgery.   She told me to let Dr. Steinberg know that my white count is consistently high, and it just seems to be the "norm" for me.   She told me that the surgeon can call her if need be.   I just hope this doesn't put a damper on my surgery and it gets postponed.     Any thoughts about this?????   

I am wanting to get more active on this site and post about my journey!!

Hey!!  My dad had Dr. Steinberg and he really likes him!!  My father had the lap-band in March and he has lost over 100 pounds so far!!  That is what made me decide to do this as well.  I am also having the Realize Band.  I am just waiting for the call to schedule sugery.  I am so excited!!  My doctor is in Gainesville which is close to my home.  This is also the first time that I have posted.  Good Luck with everything!!

Your progress is amazing!!!   I am going to have to get one of those weight loss tickers like you guys have!!

I was banded on 9-10 with the realize band and all is well.

I didn't know until after the surgery that my dr. chose this band for me.

There is a great website that you register on once you get the band and the assigned #.

Is n't this something you discuss before hand? Is their a difference in bands???

Sure.

My dr. went over the lap band with me, showed it to me, and I asked questions.

However, on the day of surgery he decided to use the realize band with me.  He said after seeing my anatomy and my shape along with some other reasons he chose that.

I feel he knows best. 

I just thought it strange that he choose it after surgery but that makes sense to make the best choice based on anatomy... that's what they got the MD next their name for...LOL
