Well.... let's see girl!

Cigna, Aetna, BCBS, UHC, First Choice, etc.
Stephanie, theres many, its just simply up to one's employer as to whether they want to pay for it or not. While, some of the ones that I listed did pay for it at one time or another, they may not now. Hopefully, others will chime in and help ya.

Good luck and I am here for ya if you should need my help..
Tell Steven I said hi.

 I'll tell Steven howdy!

Thanks for the info....  I guess I'm looking for someone to give me a "miracle" answer.  Who knows, maybe I could get a job with one of the good insurers....?

Steph!

My suggestion would be to see if you can find an employer that pays for wls and see if that company has any openings and then have your surgery. I know its not what you want to hear but, good grief we have tried everthing else. Gesshhhhhh....

Love ya lots chica!

EDITED for... You look good in your pictures....

HI Even though I am in Ga.  I chose to have my WLS in Anniston, Al.  This was after much research.  Have never regret that decision.  My ins is with United Health Care early retirement.  I also have a supplemental policy with them.  I had no problems getting approved.  Dr F's office did all the paper work, all I had to do was get approval from my primary care Dr and a copy of my last 2-3 years of clinical (test results)  Paper work was sent in on 5-15 and on 5-29 I Got my approval and has my date.

You can call your ins co and ask if they cover WLS ???

Good Luck

My ins is BC/BS of GA and my employer is GE.  The process went fairly quick and they don't require a supervised diet.

The first time, I tried with United Health Care. It was not a covered benefit with the insurance through GA Dept of Corrections, even thought I met every criteria and my doctor advocating for the surgery.

Thankful, (yet sadly at the same time) my spouse was activated in the US Army Reserve. My doc used the same paperwork that she submitted with UHC and sent it to Tricare. I was approve within two weeks.

Hi,
I also chose Dr. Freeman in Anniston, AL, and he and all of his staff are AWSOME!!  I made an appointment to go to the seminar, and able to have all of my tests, along with my psychiatric interview done the same day.  My insurance is Medicare, and then I have a supplement through the NEA.  My first day to see him was 3/4/08, and had my surgery on 4/2/08.  Originally I went to Dr. Smith in Marietta in July, 2007, and had to wait until my Medicare went into effect 8/1/07.  By August, he had quit taking Medicare patients.  I have never regretted having RNY.  It's the best thing I've ever done for myself!!

These are some that do pay for the surgery.

AT&T
Wachovia
Target
Alltel
Comcast
T-Mobile
Starbucks

These are some well known companies that have coverage for bariatric surgery, usually small companies don't have the benefit because of the costs.

  I've lost over 400 pounds!
I love helping others, if you have a question just ask!
