OH meetings

Have you ever wondered what obesityhelp.com does beside be a fantastic support network for patients and doctors?  Here is one of the things they do, tonight I went to a meeting in the Atlanta GA area and I met surgeons, a support group leader, support group members and a team from Obesity Help (OH.com). 

 

This was a powerful and inspirational meeting for me, Bo McCoy and Chris Smith were there to answer questions and give us feedback about the mission of OH.com.  I learned about the magazine, their vision for our community and how OH.com/magazine fits into my life as a bariatric patient and bariatric professional. 

 

They gave away door prizes and I won a prize with a value of $12,000 WOW!  From what I understand OH.com will hold these meeting all over the US and surgeons  including facilitators are invited to a customer appreciation reception.  

 

When they are in your city do not miss this opportunity to meet with them and network/fellowship with the decision makers of our community.  The contacts I made as the Executive Director of www.lightenupexpo.com will be with me forever and www.obesityhelp.com is the reason for those contacts and because of this meeting I will be speaking at a support group in September about our upcoming event on January 10, 2009 in Atlanta GA.  How powerful is that for networking.

Hi Charlie,
It was really good meeting you last night.  I too learned so much not to mention the fun I had meeting the doctor's and fellow supporters.  As always Bo was great and Chris was a doll (sorry Chris).  You did forget to mention the wonderful food.  I hope they have another one soon.  We also discussed our next convention in ATL.  Details will be coming soon.

Did you happen to post this on the main board?  I couldn't have said it better myself.  I will make sure I say hello to you in January at your wonderful event.

Will you be posting any details here about the event Jan.10, 2009??  If not, how can I make sure that I dont miss out on that one??

She posted the link to her event in her post above.  You have to pay to attend.  I think the least expensive price was $18 and their VIP package was like $140 per person.  It always bothers me to see people turn the WLS process into a revenue generating business.  But, I guess, there are always people who will pay.

There are local OH support groups that meet through-out Georgia and are free to attend.  Most are monthly meetings.  OH also has touring events that go around the U.S.  I believe they also charge for these events and typically have surgeons, fitness experts, plastic surgeons and nutritionists who speak at these event.s
