DIABETES IN REMISSION (for now) It's official

I'm so happy...my first goal of driving diabetes into remission has been officially confirmed by my blood work and my primary phyician is a believer in the band now...Dr. Madan, my band doctor, has me scheduled for my first fill next Wednesday, and I know he will be pleased too.

Of course, this is no cure, but it's hope. And I've broken the barrier this morning of the bouncing weight ... seems I got under 225, but I'll wait another week to confirm that...but I weighed twice and both times it was 224.6..but it was bouncing for a few days between 225 and 226...so, at least it's going down now...but I am determined to stay focused no matter what because the diabetes is still there and I want that to stay in remission...so, any weight loss is welcomed as it comes...and I know it will.

Let's all have a great weekend and do something fun and healthy at the same time...I will be glad when the weather cools a bit...but I'm thankful to be here today, and celebrating getting a second chance to live without medications...

Congratulations. I know how happy you are. After losing 20 lbs on the preop diet, I haven’t had to use my diabetic or HTN meds. It is a wonderful feeling to be healthy again. To me, it is more important that being a size 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, etc.
