Lap Band in Atlanta

Hello all,
I am a newbie & I am trying to gather as much info on surgeons in the area that perform the Lap Band.  I think that this is my surgery of choice & as far as I can tell it is not excluded from my insurance policy.

Hey. I was recently banded (7/29/08). I went through a company called True Results and the surgeon was Dr. Hart. Theres alot up here. I would just research them. The reason I chose him was because he had taught the procedure at Emory, as well as a founder of their bariatric center. Not to mention he performed one of the first lap band procedures in georgia many years ago.

Thanks for the reply Missy. I have heard Dr. Hart's name mentioned on these message boards often. I wonder if it is a long wait for him. I will check out True Results website.

I dont think there is a long wait. If i was a selfpay patient I could have had it probably 2 weeks after my first consultation appointment. I however was using insurance so it took me a little longer. I started  April 11th and was banded July 29th. My insurance approved me on July 14th and if it wasnt for trying to get things at work together I could have had it on the 22nd which was only a week after approval. The ladies in the office are super nice.

You have been super helpful. I just scheduled an individual eval with True Results for 8/21/08. I put you down as the friend *****ferred me.  I have been reading about people having to diet before their surgery. Did you have to lose a certain amount of weight prior to your surgery?
