Savannah area support group?

Hello,
I am new around here. I am not quite sure were I belong. LOL
I live just south of Savannah, ga. However my sugery and Dr.
are in Beaufort, SC.
I am tricare and that is where they recommend. I do like my Dr
and staff, but making support group meetings is 150miles.
I was wondering if there was a support group in the Savannah
area, or if anyone wanted to start one.

Congrats on you upcoming date.  I am new to the whole process so I am not much help with finding support groups.  I found one that meets in HInesville but I will have to look back in my email for any further information....well i just wanted to say HI.

There are some good support groups in Savannah. I do not remember theri meeting dates, but they are held at Memorial Hospital in Savannah. If you will call Memorial Bariatrics or look it up on the web you can get more info.

Memorial has a couple each month and you can find the date, times, and location on their web page.

The WLS center in Brunswick also host a meeting each month in the Savannah area on Abercorn at a church but not sure what date and time but if you call there they will advise and all patients are welcome no matter where they had or will have surgery.

There is an excellent meeting on the third Thursday of each month from 6pm to 7:30pm at the JEA building on Abercorn also. Nisa is the host and it is a great meeting.

There is a meeting each month also at Ft Stewart on either the 1st or 2nd Tuesday of each month but once again not sure of the times.

If any of these interest you contact for more information. I only attend one so that is the dates and times that I am aware of.
