Experiences with Dr. Hobson or Peachtree Surgical & Bariatrics??

To be fair let me begin by saying that I have a dear friend whose surgery was done by Dr.Duncan.She has done well and reccomends him highly-even though she said that the office staff left alot to be desired.
I was thrilled to be called for a consult only a few days after I went to a very crowded seminar(more like a cattle call)i now believe I was called so quickly because both medicare and medicaid cover the surgery.[I have both]As soon as I rolled in in my wheelchair{I HAVE CP}I was told by Dr fields that I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE THE SURGERY THERE DUE TO MY BEING AT HIGH RISK FOR BLOOD CLOTS DUE TO MY IMMOBILITY.That is fair.But had they read my paperwork they asked for they would have known I was in awheelchair and turned me down on the phone and sparedme a painful and needless officed visit.They need to read the paperwork before they call you in.A little compassion whould be a nice touch also.
I happily have another doctor.but it took me over a year to have the courage to consult someone else because  the consult with Dr.Fields which lasted five minutes and was a horror.
Lesson learned-Never give up.Consult more than one doctor.

Heading to the undesireable office today to see the amazing Susan Cali.   You're right about what you said,  I would wade through a pool of unprofessional office staff to get to a surgeon as fantastic as Dr. Hobson or Dr. Duncan, and I suppose I did =)   Susan has also been great. "j" wasn't my coordinator, so I can't comment there, but I know in my case I had to constantly be on top of my coordinator to get info,  but the moment I was approved for the second time (the first time they approved me too hastily and had to cancel me!!!), the process was very smooth and I had my surgery within a month.
