Experiences with Dr. Hobson or Peachtree Surgical & Bariatrics??

I used Dr. Duncan and it nearly cost me my life. He abandoned me and sent Dr. Hobson and he did the exact same thing. I filed a suit against both of them and AMC. I would not recommend them to anyone. I don't mean to reign on your parade, but, you asked for anyone to share their experiences. If you go to the Fulton County Court House and look under the many names for their practices you will see oh.... so many law suits filed against them. I wish you must success in your weight loss journey and I am glad that you haven't had any issues.

On the georgia board of medicine website,  none of the docs at PTS&B have any icidents or suits against them... if I had seen a pattern of this,  I would not have continued with them.   That's disturbing.  I'm sorry that you had such a bad time.  I had a friend who had her surgery same day as mine and nearly died at AMC after.  She was given pain meds that contained codeine,  which she is severly allergic to (posted not only on her chart and wristband, but on her DOOR) and her heart stopped.  Took them three hours to stabalize her.  Dr. Hobson was nowhere to be seen during or after that event.  Then, the same day she was released, she returned to the ER at AMC and was there 19 hours before getting a room... still no Dr. Hobson.  (She was also given mushroom soup, ice cream and sprite- 2 days post-op while at the ER).  She also felt abandoned. My personal experience with Dr. Hobson has been great.  The whole place kind of seems sketchy to me though.

Every time a suit is filed against them, their name changes. I know of so many suits filed against them. Also, when they are settled out of court, its not in the court house records. I know of several that were filed and settled out of court.

I am glad that you have ahad an uneventful surgery and post op. Count your blessings. There are many many patients of Duncan and Hobson who are not even here to be able to do that.

Be blessed and enjoy the new life that you have been so graciously given.

For the record,  towards the end of my approval process, I would have switched to another practice had it not been for the fact that none of the other docs I would have wanted to use would take my medicare. I went into surgery with a lot of prayer...  =) I wasn't sure I was in the BEST place,  but it was my best option and I needed the surgery, so I had to trust God to get me through it.  Still going on that theory =)

Hi  ALL,

Dr Hobson did my procedure he was wonderful, I must agree their staff SUCKS very unprofessional they will not contact you with your lab result even when you contact them they don't return call, I'm using my primary care to follow up with blood level every three months just so I don't have to deal with their office again!! THEY REALLY SUCK I would not recommend any one to use their office very unprofessional, Perhaps if they start loosing business they  might start providing better customer care!! especially when is relating to your health!! I would have to agree.  Dr Duncan and Dr Hobson are great, as well as Susan Cali.  The office staff leaves alot to be desired.  Just be sure to stay on them and you won't have any problem.  Just remember, it's the doctor who is the most important, not some one who answers the phone...  "J" is great.  I never had any problems and she called as soon as she got my approval to set things up. I hated them. TO DEATH!

I switched, surgeon's and surgery actually. I am so happy I didn't go through with them and the RNY. The DS is for me, and I am sure of it now. I have done tons of research and now I know what is best. I am glad those coordinators and office staff were such asses, it causes me to rethink a lot of things.

Sorry but I switched  and went to Emory for a host of reasons:

Staff was unprofessional!
I was misled during the initial seminar and told that Dr. Duncan performed the Lap Band only to have my 1st meeting  with his office and be told  by his staff that " Dr. Duncan know longer performed that procedure because he wasn't happy with the results that it offered". I was pretty much told that I was having the RYN-Y Gastric Bypass, and wasn't given a choice.

Lastly, I wouldn't be allowed to  choose a surgeon, that would be determined by whomever is scheduled to work the day of my surgery; either Ducan, Hobson or Johnson.
What???

sorry- I'm confused.  Haven't been on here much so I'm rusty on terminology... what is DS?

Good luck with your surgery.  I'm glad that you found someone you are comfortable with.

sorry- duh, you're talking about the switch.  Told you I was rusty =)
Good luck!  When is your surgery?  I hope everything goes well.  I know how hard it is to get the protein and supplements in,  I can't imagine needing even more than with RNY.  Hope it goes smoothly for you!
