BC/BS of Ga anyone?

  I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Georgia and my request was sent in today for approval! Well, I was wondering what was everyone else's experience with the insurance? How long did it take? Was it a hassle? What did they all require from you? Thanks in advance!

I hear they are pretty good!

It took me three weeks to get approved. I had to meet with a Nut, do sleep study, pysch test and that was all. Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Georgia was very quick and it was not a hassle to get approved once all the requirements were met. They did not require a six month diet as some insurance companies do. My BMI is 37 but I have comorbities of diabetes, high blood pressure and as a result of the sleep study, mild sleep apnea. I am in the Athens area so I will be having my surgery here in Athens. The insurance company was wonderful to me everytime I called them. Good luck.

I second that...my husband and I both had lapband in Jan. Once we met all the requirements it was smooth sailing :D Good luck!

It took me months to be approved and I had to jump through a tonof required hoops. My surgery was three years ago so maybe they are not as strict now but at that time it required a lot.
