Interested in forming a group???

I was thinking last night, that it would be awesome to meet people like myself in my area. My sister and I are new to the area and we would really like to meet some people who are going through what we are going through. Its nice to meet and make new friends. Hi Melissa. I am new to the area to. I just moved here in November. I have my parents here but no real friends, especially anyone that would understand what we are going through. I would be interested. Once of my limitations is that I work nights and all of the support groups are at night.   Heather

Hey Heather,  I haven't yet determined when to meet. I know it will be at my house, so if you have kids, they can come to. Do you work on the weekends? I was thinking Saturday afternoon or Sunday after church. Maybe even a Friday night. Basically, we are just trying to meet some new friends and really lean on one another. Hi Melissa!  What surgery are you looking into?  I had the VSG with Dr. Smith in Marietta and I also work nights so his support groups are hard to make it to.  I would love to start a group, let me know!

I was thinkinh of having meetings at my house. Nothing formal or anything, just a group of friends getting together and venting or just being there for one another. I have had a couple of responces so I am going to be getting everyones info and when they are available. If you have kids, bring them too. I have a 5 year old so they can all play together. Melissa, I do not work on weekends and do not have kids. But they are great fun to be around. That is great you got some responses. I am avaialbe on weekends.

I live in Dallas also.  I had byass in June of 2007 by Dr. Daly.  I highly recommend him.  Let me know when you decide to meet.  If it is compatible with my kids ball schedules I would be interested. Julie

I got a few reponces which I must say is fabulous. My sister and I are in the works of forming the group and setting a date for our first meeting. I am so excited to have people to go through this journey with. I will be emailing each of you individually to find out when the best day and time is for you, once I retrieve that information, I will set a date based on the availability of everyone.
