WLS friendly employers?

Hello people. I have a surgery dated for this upcoming Monday, YAY! Medicaid is paying for my initial lap-band surgery, but they do not pay for fills. Whereas that makes no sense to me, I must digress. Can any of you make a suggestion as to where I can seek employment that would provide insurance to cover my future medical needs? I heard that Wal-Mart & Home Depot are good. Delta used to be until they changed their policies. Are the other two still covering weight loss or have they changed too? I'd like to find out soon, so I can be prepared, if not for my first fill, then for the ones in the future. Thanks ahead of time!

I do know that Wal-Mart's insurance does not cover surgery, so they don't cover fills.  I don't know about Home Depot.

Most major grocery store chains have decent insurance and you only have to work 20 hours to qualify.  You may want to look in that direction as well.

I work at Home Depot (full time) and they cover WLS, but not the lapband so I don't think they would cover the fills. I have heard if you work part time at Starbucks for 3 months you can get insurance through there that covers WLS. I don't know if they cover fills or not. Good luck!

My surgeons office told me that fills usually are not covered, which is one of the reasons I chose RNY.  When I'm at the office and I chat with people, I've never met a bander who isn't self paying for fills.  You may want to post this on the Lap band board as well though.
