I have checked with my insurance and there are 3 different doctors and programs to choose from. I have attended all of their seminars and I am jsut split. I don't know who to pick. If you had a choice, how did you make it?

My PCP actually recommended the surgeon to me since I needed one to fix my hernia.  I had already had my Gastric Bypass back in 2004 in Indiana.  So the surgeon that I was referred to was one that I could go to down here for my yearly check ups and he fixed my hernia.  I would ask your PCP to help in the choice.

Speak with their patients as well.  There could be something that is important to you specifically that may be a deal breaker.  For me it was the amount of time the doctor actually spent with me and my family during the process...surgery...and after.  That was a deal breaker.

My insurance stated I had to have my surgery at a "Center of Excellence"  So  I really did not have a choose-

I did alot of research on here.  I also talked to his patients. The one thing about my doctor that I REALLY liked was there were NO GROUP SEMINARS.  I had the doctor to myself when discussing my WLS.  I went to a couple of seminars but felt like this isn't a group setting type thing.  But thats just me.  Just research...research...research! Also research what hospital they use. Some hospitals are not bariatric friendly.
