I am having issues with Tricare paying normal medical bills, I am afraid to even try to get them to cover plastic surgery. But I have to do something. This is getting ridiculous, lol Are there any military out there that can give me advice on where to start on the process? I found a doctor that I like, but I havent contacted them. I want to get my ducks in a row before contacting anyone. Thanks!

What type of surgery are you wanting to have?  I know Tricare doesn't pay for breast lift or the arm (batwing) surgery.  But they will cover abdominoplasty if you have documented cases of skin irritation and infection from where the "apron" hangs over.

I am also looking for info about getting plastic surgery paid for by tricare. I gained 85 pounds during my first pregnancy.  It left me with hanging skin on my stomach and my butt.  I look 4-6 months pregnant even though I am "normal" weight... Anyway, it really gets to me.  I am active duty and I feel really unprofessional, and like people are looking at me like I need to lose weight.  It makes me so self-conscious that I truly believe it affects my job. I had been hoping to try to get it justified based on psychological impact or something, but I hadn't thought about the infection/skin irritation justification.  It hasn't caused infection or irritation to this point, though.  We need to get more info about this.  I would like to schedule an appointment with my PCM on base to discuss it, but I am afraid they will reject it...I would rather be armed with all of the info I can before going to ask so that I can make the best argument possible.
