Atlanta WLS Support Group

I am in the process of starting up a WLS Support Group in the Atlanta metro area.  Specifically, Tucker/Northlake.  I am 7 months post-op with a lap band from Emory.  I've lost 147 lbs since I started my journey on June 18th and couldn't be happier. You can find out more about me and my group by clicking on my name.  At the top of my profile, there's a link "Click here to join my OH group".  You can join it if you like.  We have not setup regular meetings yet.  I am still in the process of getting certified by OH to lead a group of WLS patients!

However, we are sharing ideas, issues and straegies for success.  I wish you all much success on your journey toward a healthier lifestyle and a happier you!

 

Michael, I work in the Northlake area and am interested in attending a meeting for your support group. I had a vertical sleeve in Dec 07 and am looking for a group in my area. Please let me know when you have a date and time.

Gary- I sure will.  Congratulations on your surgery!  I have a OH Meeting Leader class I have to take on 2/2 (next weekend) and then I need to scout out a location.  I attend the Lawrencevill WINGS meeting (it was yesterday) and may piggyback co-lead that meeting if our group isn't very large.  I will be posting dates for those meeting (held in Lawrenceville) on this board under "events" so we have a place to meet in the interim. The great thing... the manager of the bowling alley in Lawrenceville gives FREE BOWLING to meeting attendees!  So, I usually hang out after the support group meeting and bowl a few games. I'll keep updating here on my training, the schedule of the Tucker/Northlake meetings and when we find a location.
