I'm gonna do this!
I have gone to two informational sessions in my area, and have chosen Memorial Bariatrics in Savannah. I will be private pay, so not as many hoops to jump through. My up front fees will be $1,450 and the lap band surgery - all inclusive price will be $12,480. Which means I can handle the loans on this, Hooray! A friend of mine is a professional colleague of the two surgeons and trusts them implicitly - great recommendation from a fellow MD.
I already went to one of the two required support group meetings, and have scheduled my initial appointment on Feb 13 so that I can go to the second required support group meeting the same day.
I will be going on a vacation at the end of February, so I am hoping that I can schedule the surgery for the end of March or the first part of April.
I am so glad I found this message board, because I know that most of you KNOW all the things I am feeling and thinking, and that is a comfort.
