How Big....

I am 3 months post-op and just wondering what size pouch I have?  I had the RNY and Dr. Smith performed it... not sure if that matters.  I'm just trying to get a visual of how big it may be?  I am praying to God that my pouch doesn't stretch back out to the size it was before surgery as I've heard that it's possible.  I want to prevent that from happening so might as well start now rather than wait.  Anything ya'll can offer would be greatly appreciated! Hugs, Judy

Typically the doctor will tell you how big your pouch is after surgery so you do not over eat at first...for example I had DS and my pouch is about 5-6 ozs....they gave me a cup that could hold 5 oz and if it doesn't fit in the cup I shouldn't eat it.

The first time my doctor made his rounds to see me after my surgery he said, " You now have a stomach the size of my thumb."   Wanda

While in pre-op training with Dr. Smith's practice two months ago Sue told me that RNY patients have a walnut size pouch after surgery.
