Ambulance trip to ER after heart cath... Tue PM
I apologize for not responding to the posts that were telling me that they were glad that prayers had been answered about the results of the heart cath.
Tuesday night, I had a bleed from the femoral artery about 7 pm... this was the second bleed that day, and a more severe bleed than the first one. We applied a second pressure bandage, and I bled through it, as well as the original one that the RN in the heart cath lab had applied earlier that day. My sister decided it was time to call 911, and the paramedics arrived. The bleeding had stopped by the time they loaded me into the ambulance for the ride back to the ER. The ER doctor took all the bandaging off, applied pressure, and was satisfied that the bleeding had stopped, said, hold on tight, I am calling the cardiologist for instructions.Within a very few minutes, he came back, had the nurse apply another bandage, gave me instructions.. complete bedrest, bathroom priviledges only for 24 hours, and then I could proceed very cautiously with walking and moving about. We all think that my terrific cough, I have either a bad upper respiratory infection or mild bronchitis, triggered the femoral artery to bleed. Anyway, I am now moving about a bit, not driving until a few more days to be extra cautious, and taking it easy. The pcp called me in some medications to help ease the cough and to fight the infection, so hopefully that will ease up soon too. Thank you for your continued outpouring of love and support.
Take care and Merry Christmas!

Dear Shelby,
Thank you for your encouragement. It was a scary time, but like you said, it is now behind me, if I continue to behave and do as I am told by the doctors, and get myself well.
I did learn that I have an acute bronchitis, and that is what caused me to have the severe coughing that triggered the bleeding.
I , if the Lord is willing, will be at the next meeting in Stockbridge.
Take care and Merry Christmas!

Hi Laura,
Thank you for your prayers. I sure do need and appreciate them now.
I haven't forgotten I promised you some protein powders and will call you as soon as I am able to get up and drive later in the week, and if I am not sick enough to make you sick.. I have acute bronchitis, this is what triggered my bleeding.. the severe coughing.. but I am fully medicated , and hopefully on the road to recovery now.
Take care
peachy hugs,
