Hey Yall Newbie here
Hey Yall
How is everyone today? I am super EXCITED!!! I just got approval from my insurance company. I have an EGD on the 28th of Nov. Then Nutrition class and pre-op testing on the 3rd of December then meet w/ the surgeon on the 5th of December to set surgery date.
I am so nervous. I have been reading up on everything. My lapband journey started this March 2007. I cannot believe it is actually going to happen. What did yall do when you finally realize that it was going to really happen? Are there any words of wisdom you have for me? Also are there any specific things that you could not have lived w/o during the hospital stay? anything you suggests after surgery?
I have tons of questions. Also if you have youtube check out my videos there. My name on there is itcomputerchick. I was super nervous on those videos :)
Have a blessed day everyone

You ask any questions you want to..we love to answer them and talk about our surgeries and weight loss. Some do stay one night in the hospital after lapband but most do not..it is an outpatient surgery most times. I had surgery on Tuesday mid day and went back to work the following Monday. No heavy lifting and was really tired for a few days..came home and went to bed basically. My port area was very tender for about a month after the surgery and will let me know it is there once in a while now..like a small cramp feeling for a second maybe. By 6 wks you are doing exercises for most people. I had to weight a few more weeks. I bruise and swell easily so Doctor for precaution wanted me to wait a couple more weeks to make sure port was settled.Everyone is different..your band is going to be part of you so it will have its on little personality. So make sure you follow your doctors orders. I use my nutritionist alot ..she is right there in the office with doctors and will help me with anything from food selections to vitamins to constipation. My pschologist that saw me pre op is also married to the pschologis that at support group every month..oh and that is very important to start now with..support groups..call doctor office and get the time and date of next support group and go..they are important to your success!
Let me know if I can help you again...who is doing your surgery and where?
