reintro and update on ME

Hey everyone!  Just a quick update on whats going on with me.  I had WLS (rny) almost 30 months ago---went from 278 to 130.  Got married (again) last november---bout to celebrate my 1st anniversary with Dan.  Had a baby boy 5 months ago...brendan isaac....such a little DOLL!  His sisters, Alli, 6, and Abby, 10 love him to death, as well as my step-daughter, Shannon, 13--although she doesn't live with us, shes a sweetie:).  Soonafter having Brendan, I noticed a knot on my neck--had it checked out---goiter on thyroid.  Dr. Duncan and Rashid did a total thyroidectomy, laporascopically (sp?).  They also set me up to get iron infusions because I was so anemic.  Then got a call from Dr. Rashid one day at work to tell me that I had cancer.  I'm at Atlanta Medical's Cancer center as I type, in the Hope Lodge, ---just had radio-iodine therapy, so I'm RADIOACTIVE! wooohooo!  Part that sucks the most is being away from my family.  Cant hold or kiss or even be around any of them for at least another week......ugh.  Making me icky a little, but I'm a tough bird!  I can get through this!  As far as the weightloss---I got down a bit too much at 130 and Dr. Duncan wanted me to gain a bit.  When I was hyperthyroid that was quite difficult....ate all the time and still lost.  Now that they've taken out my thyroid and I'm not taking synthroid (because of the cancer)  not only have I gained a bit (sigh) but I'm TIRED AS RIP!  Thank GOD my iron is up a little bit.  Watch out for signs of anemia---craving ICE more than anything in the world!!! I was addicted to it~!!!  Now that is much better but we'll see how long it lasts before I have to do infusions again.  Email me anytime--- [email protected].  Miss u all.  Hugs~Lisa
