Abnormal Echo.. severe upper back pain???
I recently had an abnormal echocardiogram. I have been experiencing severe upper left sided back pain for over 3 days, and my left arm feels as if I have bricks holding it down. Also, my fatigue has increased 3x over the past couple weeks. I have a call in to my cardiologist's office and am awaiting a call back from the nurse.
It was mentioned to me on another group that I am a member of, that possibly these issues are vitamin deficiency related? Has anyone else experienced heart issues due to vitamin deficiencies?
Just wondering.

Gina I hope you have gotten a call back by now. If not you should go to the ER. My mother had the same back pain, arm stiffness, and also was having some heart burn. She ended up having a heart attack. Please don't wait to be seen. What you are feeling is not normal.

I did get a call back from the nurse. She said the same thing that you are saying.. that this needs to be evaluated by the ER staff if it continues or progresses. I am actually feeling a bit better right now, so am waiting to see if it gets worse again.. if it does, hubby is all ready to take me to the ER.. he has been watching me like a hawk the past 24 hours.. guess he is afraid of losing me needlessly.
Thanks, and I will keep you posted.

Gina,
You still need to get evaluated ASAP. You may have had what a lot of women have called a silent MI (heart attack). If you go to the ER, insist on an EKG. Many times women are misdiagnosised, like my mother, who ended up with having a major heart attack leaving her disabled. I don't want to scare you, but it would be far better to be evaluated than have a worse alternative.
I did talk to the nurse at my pcp's office, and also the nurse at the cardiologist office. I was told to rest as much as possible this weekend, and if the pain worsened to go to the ER asap. So far, by resting, the pain has abated, and I haven't felt the need to go to ER yet. However, I did pack an overnight bag in case to make my hubby feel better should the need arise. He is still watching me like a hawk and taking very good care of me.. not allowing me to do much of anything right now. I will talk to the cardiologist office again Monday , if I am still not feeling well.
Thanks.
