Anyone used an insurance rider to cover their WLS?

Hello, I'm early in the process of having RNY.  I discovered my current insurance (Coventry) will not cover WLS.  In my attempt to find another plan that will, I discovered I will have to use a small group obesity rider under a United PPO plan.  Has anyone here in Georgia dealt with this?  Also, can you recommend any doctors that would qualify for this and that you have had a good experience with.  Would also like to know some of the doctors that you would recommend avoiding.  I had an evaluation with Dr. Champion and really liked him and his staff, however, I think they would be considered out of network.  Thanks for your help! David Oh, I'm in Atlanta, btw

I TOO HAVE COVENTRY AND AM TRYING TO APPEAL.  I DON'T KNOW THAT IT WILL HELP BUT I AM ATLEAST GOING TO TRY.  WHAT EXACTLY IS THE OBESITY RIDER?  I HAVE LOOKED INTO GETTING SECONDARY INSURANCE BUT I HAVE FOUND THAT YOU HAVE TO KEEP THE COVERAGE FOR OVER A YEAR BEFORE YOU CAN GET THE SURGERY COVERED.
