I didn't get a chance to talk with the lady who runs the  Support Groups in Atlanta and I'm hoping she gets this. If not...is anyone aware of support groups in the Metro Atlanta Area...I take the Bus so it kinda has to be bus  accessible.  I live in Sandy Springs and work in Buckhead but I am pretty good about figuring out how to get places on the bus!  Thanks in advance for any help!

There is a support group tomarrow night at 5:30 at the doctors building beside Northside Hospital. I dont know if thats to far but hope it helps.

Hello Heather,  I'm not sure if you were wanting information on my groups are not. But mine are held at HENRY MEDICAL CENTER in STOCKBRIDGE, GEORGIA. I do not that SUPPORT MEETINGS are held at ATLANTA MEDICAL CENTER, but I'm not really sure of the times. Post a message for PAT128 and I will let her know to look for it. Atlanta Medical Center off freedom Parkway have support group meeting, third Saturday of each month also  3^rd Tuesday. I usually attend Saturdays meeting. I live off Holcomb Bridge. There’s a meeting this Saturday, I wouldn’t mind giving you a ride if need one. Since I’m not to far from you. Kay.

 

I unfortunatly I work saturdays or I'd take you up on your offer... off on tuesdays so I'll have to check into those meetings!  I try not to  disrupt my work schedule more than I have do...ya know?  If you can get me a phone number and name of who to contact and maybe an address  that would be great!  just email me or post here incase anyone else is looking!  Thanks to all of you for your replys!

...Seminars & Support...

Our Seminars are held at the Wellness Center located at the Atlanta Medical Center. We offer 3 support groups monthly and they are located in the classroom of the Wellness Center on floor 2R.

These support groups are for both pre and post op patients. An educational topic is discussed each month.

The second Tuesday of every month

The second Thursday of every month

The third Saturday of every month

Hi Heather and Welcome, I am the Pat128 Jeannie spoke of.  The info I was going to give you is the same that Ms Kay gave you above.  The Tuesday one was yesterday and the Thursday one is tomorrow at 6pm.  I hope to go to that meeting myself so if you come be sure to say hi. 

I work a weird 3 off 4 schedule....with 10 hour shifts...so the tuesday meetings will be the best ones for me...gotta give a couple weeks notice to get the day off...wish I could go though...I'll just have to wait till tuesday next month!  In the mean time..when I have questions and need support I have you lovely wonderful people to help me get thru those tough moments...

Northside Hospital has a Support Group that meets the 2nd Thursday of the month at 5:45 in the auditorium of the 980 Medical Building on Johnson Ferry Rd next to the hospital. Everyone is welcomed. The next meeting is October 11th.  They also have scales that go up to 1000 pounds.
