My surgery is scheduled for Oct. 3rd. My surgeon is Dr. Macik, he calls for a no carb diet 2 wks prior to surgery. Does anyone out there go to Dr. Macik and did you have to do the diet? What did you eat or did you drink the protien supplements? I want to do this right so let me know.

Hello, Dr. Macik done my surgery back on Aug. 15th,  yes I had to do a 2 weeks no carb diet.  I ate alot of chicken and any vegetable that was green. Absolutely no pasta, rice or bread, it is hard because there is not to many things that doesn't have carbs in it.  But your so excited and nervous about the surgery that it doesn't bother you so bad.  I think they try and get you prepared for after the surgery, it does help.  Also I think you can pretty much have any kind of meat and fish.  Try researching the Atkins Diet, I believe it is either low carb or no carb?...hope I was able to help you.
