The surgery itself went about as smooth as I thought it would.  I've had 4 c-sections and a hysterectomy so the lapro procedure didn't scare me.  The surgery was at 3pm Friday and I was up walking to the nurses station by 8:30 pm.  I walked again at 11, 1, 4 etc.  I knew I didn't want gas pains.  All seemed good at first but I ended up being so tight I could not even swallow an ice chip without heaving.  It really sucked but has loosened up enough to come home finally.  They kept me the extra 2 days so I could have IV fluids.  Has this happened to anyone else? I need to pass gas and aside from some burping haven't done that yet either.  I took some gas X tongue strips but it just made me burp more. BTW,  I'm sure not what the whole angel thing was supposed to be about but I supposedly had one and NO one called on me, not that I'm having a pity party but I'm definitely wondering what I did to myself at this point.  Hell, I won't need fills at this rate.  I'm already down 4 pounds since surgery!  My youngest ended up coming home from school with Strep on Friday so my husband was with him and didn't see me into surgery and when I came out of it he wasn't back yet.  I was SO ALONE!  Oh well, quite honestly as the mother of 4 kids alone is not necessarily a bad thing. Anyone else have their surgery this past week and want to share their story? Laurel

Laurel, I'm sorry you had such a bad time. I hope you get to feeling better soon! I haven't had my surgery yet, so I can't guess what my outcome will be like. I just hope it goes a little more smoothly. I am glad you are home! Hugs, Chelle

I had my surgery Wed Aug 29th.  I was walking around by 4pm.  I was in surgery about 9-9:30amish. I was out 10 mins til 12pm, but there were no rooms.  The more I do, I get more sore. I am sure this is normal.  I just need to get back into the swing of things. I will be going back to work tomorrow.  Dr Hobson said if I am ready, I can go.  I an a claims adjuster so I just sit at the desk.  I constantly feel full, but the head hunger is what I need to overcome, especially with everyone around me eating.  Once I go back to work it will be a lot better. Congrats! Isn't it nice to finally fell like a loser? Nicole

Hey, Laurel: Just reading your post.  Bless your heart-- you were not alone.  I remembered the day of your surgery and called to check on you the next...only to remember that I did not know your last name.  Darn those HIPAA laws...the hospital could give me no information about you with out it. Glad to know you are back at home and glad to know you are doing well. Talk with you soon. Ingrid

Hi Laurel,  Sorry that what should've been an exciting new beginning turned out to be just a crappy couple of days. I hope they are getting better! Don't forget that you've got alot of support around you, from everyone at Dr. Blaney's office, and the support groups, and OH.  Take care Cathie
