Help..need a doc who takes medicare and does the sleeve

Kathryn, Do you have just straight Medicare or one of those Advantage HMO -Insurance companies managing your Medicare account? Anyways you need to call either or to see if they'll cover the "Gastric Sleeve" as it's such a new procedure, it may not be covered. If that's the case, which I'm hoping the best that it does cover it to your wishes. You may be just wasting your time trying to get Medicare to cover it. Best of Luck & Prayers for your future, Mike

Hi, I have medicare and they do not cover the sleeve, but they do cover the roux en y, which I had at peachtree bariatrics 07/13/07..Call medicare, and they will let you know..There is no precert they just require that you might their criteri.. Trisha
