Anyone got room for a freeloader for Friday Sept 7?
Kat, I'd invite you to come share our king size bed but I'm pretty sure Fatima would be very P***** off as she get's very jealous when other ladies show any attention my way even at church & such.
Were stay at the Wingate just down the road from the Hilton. The AAA/AARP rate was $58.50 when I reserved our room but it's now $62.10. Hope you find a roomie. We'll see you at the M&G.

Mike!
Thanks! Don't want to make anyone mad so I guess I'll just have to get my own room. I looked at the Wingate website this morning. I was hoping I wouldn't have to spend that much for one night. I could still stay with my cousin but her house is about 40-45 minutes from the crab shack so I am not sure I'll really want to drive it after the Meet & Greet and then get up and drive back to Atlanta in a few hours. UGH Decisions Decisions!!!! I think I'd rather stay close to the conference though because I am completely unfamiliar with the area and I'd hate to get lost up there at night.
I just came back from a week at Nag's Head with my friend from high school and I spent more on souvenirs for the family than I intended to. We also found an outlet mall there and did a little lingerie shopping much to the chagrin of my little nephew (10 yo) who didn't even want to be seen sitting on a stool inside the place. That didn't stop him from putting on my bra, stuffing it with a towel a prancing all through the house to get a good laugh. He's a funny kid!
My youngest child is coming home from CA for Thanksgiving and just told me she is getting married while she is home so now I have a wedding to plan. MUCHO MULA!!! Even with me doing all the flowers, decorating, food and cake myself it's expensive. We have to make a trip to Roanoke, VA in Oct. for my MIL's 90th birthday celebration too so now you see why I was hoping to be able to share a room and the expense with someone else. Hey I could just go to the hotel and spend the night in the hottub!!! Or on the treadmill! Now that's an idea! Just kidding!
OK gonna run along. You guys have a safe trip and I will see you both on Friday. Oh one great thing is I can fit in my daughter's little Cavilier now! I can use her car instead of having to drive my big ole Suburban. Such a gas hog. Well not really that bad on gas but it costs $100 or more to fill it up. Have to drive it to VA though because my hubby has arthritic hips and can't get in and out of a small or low vehicle.
See ya soon!
Kat
Kat are you from Virginia? I grew up in VA. Beach and spent several weekends epecially the least few years before moving to Clearwater, every weekend in Hatteras/Nags Head. Everyone in our family went to Va.Tech. As now they go to every football game there still.
If OH had followed through with plans this year to have a National OH Conference in Va.Beach we would've made the trek up there. As it's been 14 years since I've been up. I'm sure everything has changed. And hoping to make it up in 2010 to my 35 year High School Reunion in my new Life where no one will recognize me, as I was 400 my senior year.

Mike,
No Mike I am Jacksonville born and raised. My hubby is from New York but his mother was born and raised in Riverville, VA. Her brother was the post master there and owned the general store (keep in mind she is turning 90). She and one of her sons moved back but to VA about 20 years ago. My stepdaughter and family just moved from Jacksonville to VA beach in June. Her husband is in the Navy so his duty station changed.
Funny how the yars pass so quickly after high school. We did a cruise for our 25 year HS reunion and this year was 30 years. Sure doesn't seem like it! Noone will know you in 2010! Won't that be great?! I always said I wanted to be thin enough that I could walk into a room and noone would notice. I am on my way!
I had never been to Nags Head before but I really like it there. My friend Judy's DIL's family rent a house there every summer and they invite the whole family. They invited my friend Judy and she invited me. I was welcomed with open arms. They are really very nice people to share such a great vacation with complete strangers. We had a blast! We were a block from the beach but you could see the ocean and the beautiful sunrises from our balcony.
Did you go to VA tech too? We used to go to Roanoke every other year for Thanksgiving but since we have grandchildren (6 and one on the way) we like to stay close to home so they can be with us for the holidays. Well now 2 are in GA, 2 are in CA, and 2 are in VA. Of course we see the boys in GA most often. We meet them halfway (usually in Brunswick) for lunch or dinner often. My daughter in CA comes home for Thanksgiving or Christmas every year and usually in the spring too. She didn't get to come home this spring so it's been almost a year since I have seen her or the grandbabies. Anyway I was going to say we used to always have heavy traffic from VA tech fans when we drove up that way for Thanksgiving.
Ok Mike I better get going. I just finished printing wedding invitations and have to run out for a bit before I start addressing those darned things.
