It is about that time for me to consider having some work done.  Please share your experiences with doctors you have consulted or undergone procedures with.  Thanks a bunch!

My plastic surgeon is Dr Philip Nakano in Duluth on Peachtree Industrial Blvd.  He did the lil girls last November (BL/BA), Lower body lift in May, and 8/17 did my eyes, face & neck.  So far, so good....I have a dog ear (I think) on my breast incision, and may need a revision on my chin incision, but I need to give it time to completely heal up.  Go back to see him in two weeks.  If you go to him, please tell him that I referred you to him. Thanks. Norma

There is Dr. Stephen Kahler in Carrollton.  He worked on a girlfriend of mine that had dropped well over 200 lbs and he did an excellent job.  My friend told me that he specializes in these types of reconstructive procedures.

Hi.  I just had my third round of plastics last week with Dr. Wang-Ashraf.  She works with a lot of WLS patients and you will not hear a bad thing about her.  She does amazing work and is one of the kindest people I have ever met.  My first round I had a Tummy tuck, breast lift and arm lift, my 2nd round I had a Lower body lift and upper side flanks remove and last week I had a Medial thigh lift with lipo and a scar revision and I couldn't be happier with my results.  Her web site is http://www.artisanplasticsurgery.com/

Hi Sherry!  I didn't do my legs with my other surgeries because I really didn't plan on doing them but after everything else was nipped and tucked my legs looked so bad I went back.  I have to tell you this is the most painful of all my procedures.  It has been a little over a week and I am still hurting.   Why aren't you happy with your legs?

Honestly...they look like nothing was done to them...she lipo'd and lifted at the same time...so couldn't take out as much fat (I'm bottom heavy) and, well...I need a re-do. I had to cancel all my follow-ups this spring b/c my mom was sick. So-now that she has passed on, I'm trying to get back in to see her. I don't think my hubby will support another surgery...we'll see. He wants a baby after I'm done with my triathlon season...

Thanks ladies!  I'm going to check into all of the doctors you mentioned.  Did anyone use insurance for any of their procedures?

Insurance is an 'iffy' thing...did you have rashes, infections, etc while losing your weight...did you take pics of these various ailments, and did you go to your PCP or dermatologist to document these instances??  Does your 'apron' hang below your pubic area??  If so, insurance MAY cover a pannilectomy (removal of excess skin w/o muscle tightening).  Regarding your breast, insurance MAY cover a breast reduction, but this depends on the amount of excess skin that is removed.  Please remember when contacting your insurance to see if these procedures are covered, tell them it is 'reconstructive surgery following massive weight loss'....dont ask if they cover 'plastic surgery' !!!!!!!   I know for a fact that my PS (Dr. Nakano) does not deal with insurance payments...he will provide documentation after the fact for you to submit to your insurance company.  But I knew that I did not have any 'issues' that I described above, so I felt like my insurance would not cover any of my procedures.  I also have an 'individual' policy and not a group policy, so coverage there would be even more strict than with a group policy.
