Surgery Date 8/31

Wish me luck!  I have surgery scheduled for 8/31.  I have a pre-surgery appt on Tuesday.  It's the middle of the day and they told me it takes 3 hours which makes me wonder what all is involved.  Anyway, it's all happened very fast in the scheme of things.  I've had some last minute cravings for foods I think I may not be able to have again, like Red Lobster biscuits.  I've lost a little weight and hope not to gain it back this week with those pesky cravings. Congratulations Laurel, Friday will be here before you know it.  As for your pre-op taking three hours, my surgeon has a last minute meeting/class on what to expect during and right after surgery, then you meet with the anesthesiologist and have last minute lab work done. You will be able to eat a lot of things you now love, just not for quite some time and not in the quantities you are used to, but then again, you probably won't want them anymore either.  Your head might but your tummy won't anyway.  I might find I have a craving and then as soon as I smell it or actually take a tiny bite I no longer want it.  Trust me, this is a good thing.   Please know that both you and your surgeon will be in my prayers as your big day approaches.  Please keep us posted.

Good luck Laurel and I will keep you in my prayers. my pre op was basically seeing dr for a few minutes and him going over all the stuff that could go wrong and signing a paper that He told me all of it and that I had all my questions answered. Then I had to go to hospital to have EKG and lab work done, and they asked a bunch of questions also.  Phyllis
