2nd Week post op Lap Band
I am two weeks post op. I just want to make sure I am following all the right guidelines. Is there a certain amount of calories I should be eating? I didnt lose any weight during the second week. What on earth am I doing wrong. I have stayed away from anything fattening and follow all the doctors rules....is this common?

Hello, Yes from what I understand about the lap-band. The Weight loss is slower than you having the RNY. Just follow your doctors rules and you will do fine. You might want to check out the Lap-Band forum and see if this will help you. Are you doing any kind of Support Group Meetings? For this will help you as well.

hey there ....Well you really will not lose any weight until you get your first fill....or that is how it was with me ...when i got my band i lost like 20 pounds in two weeks from the liquids and then gained 10 back before my frist fill ....I suck and i can not do liquids for more than a week....but once i got my fill i started to lose about 1-2 pounds a week .....i have lost a total of 50 since Nov 06, and right now i am unfilled totally due to some issues i was having but i am not gaining so i am happy right now .....but you are not doing anything wronge ...just try to stay away from carbs ...and make suer your meals are a 1/2 to 1 cup a time ...i think that is the guidline ...i could be wronge ...but i usually can not eat mroe than a cup at a time .........

Are you still on mushies? Or have you advanced to solid food..Remember Protein first then veggies then your starches. This is the time when you are learning how to eat ..small bites, chew chew chew and slow slow slow...any weight you lose before you have a fill is a bonus according to what I hear. good luck and let me know if I can help.
