Pat & Jeannie...Hello!!!

Hi there ladies!  How are you?  It's Kathy from over at the FL board! Pat I read about your complication with the medication.  I am so glad to hear that you are doing OK! Jeannie- You are always busy it seems from meetings and helping others. I have a question for you gals.  When we were in Orlando in May Betsy was telling us to come to Brunswick for their big shindig in Oct.  Do either of you know if that is still on  and the date or have you talked to Betsy?    Another question...Is there anything planned for Friday night at the Atlanta Event?  I am planning on coming (if I can stay well long enough) but staying with my sweet cousin in Douglasville.  But I'd love to meet some of the Ga girls that I've been reading messages from here and It would be great to see you two again, so I was wondering if there is a meet and greet or anything being worked on. OK gonna run.  Way passed my bedtime and I have to get up early to go get my hair cut in the morning.  You all take care!  Pat get better soon my dear.  You can't Zoomba if you're sick! Hello Kat,  Everything is really wonderful here. I'm hoping that I can do something as to have some kind of get together on friday night. But I'm not having much help in getting finc. help the cost to rent a place is $$$$$$$$. So I'm still looking for a place that will hold 150 people with not $$$$$$. We will see! Hug's Jeannie

Jeannie, Hey!  I completely understand the money issues.  We financed a truck for my son a while back and he has not been making the payments so we have had to make them.  UGH!!! My hubby and I are both on disability and raising our nephew .  I am just sick over the way my son has done us.  So now I am trying to make him grow up fast and get a job (he has been lying to me about having a job too). Can't sell the truck because he wercked it twice.  Anyway.... I do understand.  We have to make a trip to Virginia in Oct for my MIL 90th birthday so I am trying to figure out how I am going to do Atlanta in Sept. and VA. in Oct.  Staying with my cousin is the only way.  But the great part of that is I can't wait to visit with her. We haven't seen each other in a couple of years and she and her family are just wonderful people.  I am planning to stay with her a few days before or after so we can have some girl time!  Plus she is expecting her first grandbaby around that time. I would love for the baby to come while I am there!  I have been telling her for years that grandbabies are the best things since sliced bread and she really should get herself one.  LOL!!! Just an idea and maybe not even a good one...Are there any hospitals near the conference site that would maybe provide us a large room to meet in and then we could maybe form a committee to provide the food and beverages.  It doesn't have to be fancy just nutririous.  They may even be able to provide tea, water and maybe coffee for a small fee.  If there needs to be a small admission fee to help out I don't think that would be a problem for most of us.  I would be willing to pay it in advance.  As I said just an idea. Well girl gotta go.  It's time for my hair appt. Kat 

Jeannie, you don't need a place for 150. At the Hilton they have a room just off the Lobby calles the "Whisper" 1120sq.ft. 35X32 which holds 60 Reception style. And looks out over the Pool area which if there's more than 60 the over-flow could go out onto the pool area. As to Funds to pay for this room and any if wanted food (water is free) asks Surgeon's, Hospital Reps and any other Bariatric Resources if they's Sponsor a Meet & Greet as advertising for their Business. Advertising is a TAX deduction in business.  My surgeon & his hospital Sponsored my Meet & Greet and received new patient's for doing so.And OH gave then Free Vendor Tables for the Conference.  Any other questions, just ask,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Mike 

Mike, You are so good at this stuff! I think OH should put you on the payroll to set up their events for them and meet & greets too.  You are wonderful at it.  I stink at stuff like that.  Or maybe you shoul go into business as an event planner.  You would be awesome at it!!! Somehow I missed this post but when I read it I had to reply. How are you doing Mike and how is the lovely Fatima?  I was really bummed by what happened to Randy.  So sad but it could have been anyone of us.  My heart stopped on the table but Thank God Dr. Overcash beat on my chest (CPR****il it started to beat again.  I'm sure the 4 rounds of atropine helped too.  How is Randy's wife doing?  Have you heard?   Ok time for me to get to bed.  I have church in the morning and I have been partying hard with the 10 year olds all day and most of the night.  So the "Old Girl" is tired. Tammie, I wish I had more info to give you.  I met Betsy at the Orlando comference and we all sat outside of our rooms and had a great chat.  She said they were having a big get together in Oct. but I have heard nothing else.  I am only about 1 1/2 hes. from Brunswick so that is a day trip for me.  We meet my daughter and grandbabies who lives near Savannah, there for lunch or dinner sometimes just to get my baby fix and get some hugs and kisses.  LOL!!!  I love being a grandma but hate them living anywhere but here. Anyway Betsy if you're out there please let us know if ya'll will be dancing in the streets and if the invite still stamds. Tammie I'll let you know if I hear anything. I am in Brunswick and yes the WLS celebration is still on. It is in October on Saturday the 6th. It will be at CGCC with lot of information and Chef Dave I believe to be here. There is a Model runway (not sure what that is but heard it is good) and a Dance that night. I was told what the cost was but at the moment can not remember. Your support people are also invited. When the flyer on it comes out, then I will be glad to post it if you do not hear from Betsy. I am a lapbander and she is a RNY so I don't alway make it to that support group.
