Abdominal Pain

Hello OH,

 

Starting Monday, after having a bowel movement I started having some cramping on my left side I though it was gas so I took some gas ex.  The pain did not lessen I still continue to take gas ex to date I’m still having abdominal pain I’m still thinking it might be gas. I’m not sure should I be calling the DR’s office or just see if it will pass please advise. Kay.

 

Kay, Please always call your Dr....even if you are not having BM's...last year (04/11/06), I started experiencing cramping along my waist line...it was like it was radiating from my belly button...I did nothing for 6 hours, and then called my surgeon's office.  I was told to go to Emory Dunwoody ER and that they would run the necessary tests to determine what was going on...I had a partially blocked bowel obstruction (Scar tissue) from my RNY surgery.  Mind you this was in the middle of 'Hell Week', as I am a CPA in a CPA firm, and 'Tax Day' is literally right around the corner...I went back to work on 04/15/06, after having ER surgery on 04/12/06.  Your body might be trying to tell you something if the pain doesnt subside...mine never subsided, just got continually worse!!! The pain got  a little worst last night so I called Dr’s Duncan office this morning, they asked me to immediately come in so I did.  I after I was examine they ordered A CT SCAN for me, tomorrow at 12:30 PM I could not have it today because I can’t eat or drink nothing for 5 hours prior. Dr. Rashid told me if it get worst over the weekend to call them and take myself to ER. I’m really hoping is not major guys I’m a little  scared right now.   The reason why I didn’t call them sooner is I was hoping it would go way.

 The pain did  not worsen thank God but is still hurts I’m hoping to make it until the DR office give me something after they get my test result back, I had it done yesterday, they should have it Monday or early Tuesday.  Thank you for the support. Kay.

 

 

 

 

I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to check up on you but my computer has been sick. I know you will be okay so get plenty of rest and stay cool.Be blessed and let me know how everything is going.

Kay, I am glad tohear that you called the dr office.  If the pain gets worse, by all means go to the ER.  Better to be safe than sorry.  I hope that everything goes well when you have your testing done at AMC. Cynde
