I'm Home..what a ride

Hi everyone, Well, I finally had my EGD and colonoscopy done yesterday.  They did fiind some ulcers and the meds should fix them although they also did some biopsies.  I should have those results next week. I went in for the simple routine tests yesterday morning and ended up in the middle of some  pretty deep stuff.  I had a rare reaction to the "caine" products.  They attached themselves on to my red blood cells which prohibited by red blood cells from collecting oxygen and in sense sufficating me from the inside.  My skin color ranged from dark ash grey to black on the hands and feet.  The palms of my hands were a dark blue.  I don't know about my face but the outside of my lips were black with the inside of my mouth being dark purplish.  Pretty scarey stuff.  They injected me with an antidote and gave me high force oxygen for 24 hours.  They didn't call me out of the woods until three this morning.   Anyway they finally let me come home this evening.  I am still weak and get dizzy easy but I will be fine in a few days.   I want to thank everyone for their prayers, well wishes, and phone calls.  Somehow, without even telling anyone, everyone seemed to call me out of the blue (no pun intended).  Sorry I wasn't able to talk for long if I was even able to answer the phone and I am also sorry I wasn't able to call anyone myself.  Oxygen was at a premium and, hey, I think you all understand.

Hey Pat,   Glad that the event is over, and sorry that you had an adverse reaction to the caine drugs. I am glad that they found what is making you so sick.   Take care of you, and take it easy for a day or two or three.. we know you will be back posting as soon as you can. Take care and know we all care, and you remain in our prayers.
peachy hugs,

Hi Renee, It made my day when you called me yesterday "out of the blue".  I don't remember much about our conversation or anything else for that matter.   I would like to give you one lesson in obesity help forums.  When you select the "reply" button right under the person that is the person you reply to.  If you want to reply to the main message you select "Post Reply" at the bottom of the complete message.  It's not really a problem just that the person you are talking to may not see the message and won't get the email message that someone replied to their post.

Keep up the good work, Darling.  Love you....

Hi Kay, I will do my best to be a good girl.  There is nothing anyone could have done to prevent this from happening.  I have to give credit of my life to two  nurses.  One is a teaching nurse and she had just recently taught her nurses about this rare condiditon and the other was a much younger nurse that caught it right off the bat.  When the younger one called the teacher she didn't believe it, but if the teacher hadn 't told her about the condition to begin with.....  All I can say is thank GOD for teachers and nurses (OK doctors too).
