New Support group being formed in Macon .. anyone interested?

Hello everyone,   My name is Gina Landers, and I am currently scheduled to take the training sessions to become an Obesityhelp certified support group leader. I live in Macon, and plan to start up a support group in that area if enough interest abounds. If you are interested, either reply here to the Georgia Forum Message Board or directly to me at my private email, [email protected] Looking forward to serving those in my area with support and encouragement, and hearing all the positive stories, wow moments, and etc.. I am almost 7 yrs post op from RNY .. and have maintained over a 200 pound loss.  Take care

Hi Gina,  You know that I will be here to support you in anyway that I can. What are the dates that you have choosen for your training? I call in and listen to the training classes as much as I can because it really helps me and I become more informed. I really love OH- they have helped me in so many ways. I was really glad to see both you and Renee' at my meeting. I know that she is going to do really well on her new journey. I really think that the both of you are great people. Hi Jeannie,   The support from you means a great deal to me. The dates I have chosen are  Aug 9  12 noon PST, 3 pm our time Aug 14 !2 noon PST, 3 pm our time Aug 23 8 am PST  , 11 am our time..  That would be great if you want to call in and listen.. I am going today to my hubby's office and print out the manual and letters.. and getting a ringed binder and the plastic protector sheets.. I am still in the process of locating a meeting place.. have to talk to the three area hospitals and see if one is willing .. I am sure they are..  Renee is doing great.. lost 30 pounds in 17 days.. so great  so far..  Take care and it s been a pleasure meeting you too.

hey honey we have a support group her in warner robins it is called mini mees every 1st tuesday of each month.

  I know about Minimees, but the past few times that I have been able to get to the Minimees meeting in Warner Robins, there has been no one there.. no leaders, or participants.

  I am going through the OH support group leader certification as well. I think there is a need in Macon, as I have been told  by some weight loss surgery patients in the area, that driving to the southside of Warner Robins is a bit far for them. I am looking into a central location in Macon to have these meetings, probably the first Thursday of each month so as not to interfere with Minimees, and most likely at one of the local area hospitals, starting in Sept.
