Hey Tammie,
While I was pre op and on my liquid diet I went to the Vitamin Shoppe and bought a protein powder called Jay Robb. The strawberry tasted pretty decent. I also made sure to start all my vitamins.
I also used Dr Hobson. The best things I took to the hospital were my cell phone (didn't have to try to remember phone numbers), a small hugga pillow (for moving around, coughs and the ride home), a small fan (I am always hot), and a cd player with headphones to block out all outside helicopter and nurse noise. I also took a hair clip that I used to hold the cd player to my bedrail.

Hi Tammie!!! You have a great surgeon!!!! I used Hobson in Oct 05, and have had nothing but a wonderful experience with him and the office. I would reccomend that you take a house coat ( the see-more butt gowns are terrible) a pillow( they never have enough) loose clothes to wear home, cell phone, nessacary toiletries, something to keep you occupied.
Good luck with your up comming adventure! Cynde G rny10-10-05 367/217/180 "The journey is long, but the scenery is awesome!"
Dear Tammie,
I can't tell you what to do as far as your liquid diet goes.. because I had a different surgeon. However, you need to take as little as possible to the hospital.. maybe some slippers with non slip soles, a robe that opens all the way in front to accomodate the IV when walking the halls, either a long distance phone card or cell phone, and maybe some type music player with headphones.. the helicopter noise is pretty loud on the bariatric floor.. my friend recently had RNY with Dr Hobson, and I remember the noise in her room.. Anyway, best of luck on your weight loss journey, and if we can, we may stop in to see you that day. I have to go to Stockbridge for an appt anyway.. so not much further up the road..
Take care
peachy hugs,
