Suggestions on what to pack for hospital

I have read about ladies saying their lips were very chapped after surgery . I am having surgery on July 30 with Dr.Williams at North Fulton Regional and was just wondering what I should pack ?

You picked a very good surgeon...he was mine.... The reason you need some chapstick...is to make you start feeling like a human again...All that I was given for the first 24 hours after surgery was ice chips, and not toooo many of those.  And remember your mouth is sooooooo dry after surgery, and no water is allowed.... Be sure to take some bedroom slippers for walking the halls...even though you cant eat or drink, they will have you up the day of surgery walking the halls...  When you have your pre-op appt, ask at the hospital if they supply robes to their patients (I know that Emory Dunwoody supplied their patients with them).  If they dont supply robes, you will need one...  Be sure to take comfortable loose clothing for going home from the hospital.
