Dr. Leena Kahtain

Has any one here had surgery performed by dr kahtain? she use to be at emory and has now moved to ohio to be head of bariatric surgery at geauga hospital. I have meet with her and like her but her program is so new here she hasn't done many surgeries in ohio let and just wanted to get some feed back from some one she has operated on. My wife andI are trying to get approval for the lap band and she would be doing th surgery. thanks Bill

I didn't use her. I do know that she is awesome at what she does and is very well respected in the ATL area. I knew that she left to start up that program and she is missed by many here. Good luck you are in awesome hands with her. Crece

Hi Bill,  Sh was a great Doctor.  Ed Lin is pretty much running it(he did my surgery and a really nice guy) there is another doc there his name starts with a Z, was at Emory week before last because I had some issues with my intestine and had to have emergency surgery(I am 2 years out on 7/05/07) not sure how far you had gone through the program, but they are pretty much doing it the same way(seminar, 1st appt, evaluation, 2 appt, day of hell, 3rd appt, and surgery) I dont have Lin's number on me but if you go to emory's wensite they have a bariatic link...they still do most surgeries at Crawford, they have gotten into doing lapband more too...hope this helps  Erica

Hi Bill, I am a nurse at Emory and I know Dr. Khaitan.  She is truly a wonderful, gifted surgeon... A few years ago I was going to have her do my surgery, but ended up waiting, and Dr. Ed Lin did mine here... he too, is wonderful.  But have no fear with her... you would be in very capable hands.  Hope that this helps.  And I hope all the best for you!  Beth

I went for a consulation a few years back at Emory and met Dr Kahtain.  She was very nice to me and I felt comfortable but she wouldn't do my surgery because I was over the BMI limit that Emory would allow.   Carol
