BonBon1, I have an appointment with Dr Finley-Atlanta next week and now I I now have an appointment with Dr Bagnato in Albany, GA.  BOTH accept BCBS Federal.  I am just going to go with my gut feeling on who I like/trust.  I will be sure to let you know what I think of them.   Have a Happy 4th!!!   Heather

Way to go, Heather!   I can see you are doing your homework and determined to get what you want. I'll be waiting to hear what you thought about those doctors.   I'm going to the WLS seminar Sat. morning, and I'm so excited I can barely stand it!   My husband will be with me, and I'm hoping we will both learn alot.  He is slim and has never been on a diet, so doesn't really understand the whole process.   Even though he is supportive, his idea is that maybe I could just "fast" for a few months!     Hope you have a great 4th!                                                           BonBon

Ok....one Dr. consult down....one to go!   I went to see Dr. Finley in Atlanta yesterday.  I liked him.  He was very "matter of fact".  He didn't promise me anything, he just gave me the facts.   He gave me a list of all the things I need to do before scheduling surgery... I just have one other Dr I want to see before making a decision. Oh, and by the way Bon Bon....the girls at the front desk of Dr. Finley's office said not to worry about the insurance...that they (BCBS Federal) ALWAYS cover and they are super fast on approval time!!!! WHOO HOOO!!! Heather P.S.  As usual the traffic and congestion in ATL was HELL!  UUUGGGHHH!!!

Hi Heather,   It sounds like you are really getting things going fast.  What were Dr. Finley's requirements for surgery if you don't mind me asking?  I'm glad to hear good news about BCBS, too, yay!!       As part of the ton of paperwork I had to fill out to apply for surgery up here,  I was required to call my insurance co. and ask them a bunch of questions starting with, of course, if they covered this surgery.  They said yes, both gastric bypass and lapband.  They  also said their only requirements are BMI over 40 or 35 with co-morbidities, a psych evaluation, and pre-certification done by the surgeon's office.  So it could be smooth sailing for us!   Let's keep our fingers crossed.    I mailed off my paper work today and now have to wait for an appt. to go to the surgeon's office and talk to them.  Have  also made an appt. for Monday with my primary care doctor to make sure she is good with all this.  She is very sweet, so hopefully no problem there.      Good luck with the next surgeon and let me know how things go!                                                                 Bonnie
