Length of Hospital stay and nearby Hotel?

I am scheduled for surgery on 24 May 2007. Can anyone tell me how long I should be in hospital after Laproscopic RNY? I do not live close to hospital and my docter requires that I get a hotel close by for 2 or 3 days. Can you suggest a nice place with a good price near Dekalb Med Center? :-S Thank you, Cynthia

I live in Columbus, GA I was told about a hotel close to the Hospital that can be rented by the week, called Metro Lodge. Do you know anything about the place? It's a place I can afford but don't know if it is a clean place. How long were you in hospital? Thanks, Cynthia

Cynthia, You might find something in the city of Decatur...I know that there is a Holiday Inn, and I am sure there are some more within downtown Decatur. The other areas to look at would be near LaVista and 285 or around Emory....You might want to call your Drs office and see if they can give you some ideas about where to stay... Norma

There is a holiday inn express that is pretty resonable and not far. It is located on N. Decator road, they have fridges so you can keep your clear liquids cool.

I was a student at Emory and stayed there at times. Also the WIngate Inn on Clairmont is also reasonable in prices. They also have fridges.

A little futher way is an extended stay hotel off exit 39, they rent by the week.

I did not like the hotel in Decatur to much due to expense. I also looked at hotels.com, expedia.com and the hotel site them self and took the best cost.
