Hi group. I just found this message board for us Georgia girls. My name is Marsha. I am 55 years old and live in Douglasville. My RNY surgery will be this Thursday 5/24/07 at Atlanta Medical Center -- Dr. Titus Duncan. I started at 365. Currently on the 1-week liquid diet in prep for the surgery and am down to 350. I'm a little anxious about the surgery but more anxious about giving up my best friend (food)! I am also excited about the positive changes that will be coming for me. I want to be able to live again and do the things I want to do. I'm glad to find you guys.

Hi Marsha, Welcome to the beginning of a new and improved you!   I also used Dr Duncan's office.  Just 8 weeks ago his associate Dr Hobson did my RNY.  You are doing well on your liquid diet and your surgery will be here before you know it.  You really won't miss your "best friend" for quite some time and if you use the nonmissing time wisely you may find you weren't that good of friends to begin with.  You will be eating (or wanting) very little in the beginning and when you do good choices will start to come naturally.  Protein will become your new best friend.   Best of luck,  keep us posted, and by all means use us.  ASK away.  We will all be willing to help guide or support you along the way.

My daughter in law was raised in Stockbridge and then in Mcdonough. I think her grandmother has live in or around Stockbridge for most of her adult life.

Hi everyone! I am an interloper from the FL. board! Actually since I met Pat, Jeannir and Betty at the Orlando OH conference I pop in every day or so to see what is going on next door(You know FL/GA) Just want to wish all of you well who are about to have your surgeries  and tell you that you really won't miss "your old friend" that much!  In the beginning you will have to make yourself eat.  It is all worth it though and it won't be long before you start to be able to do things that you haven't done in years and you start to have those wonderful WOW moments!  Good luck to you all.  Also I wanted to say to Marsha that my cousin and her family live in Douglasville.  I love that little town!  Also a great big hello to Jeannie and Pat!!! We all need to get together for another chat real soon!  It was fun!  If I don't see you before I'll see you guys in Brunswick in October!  Oh yeah Pat did you do the Detroit event?  If so how did it go? Take care all!   Kat

HIJACK, Hi Kat, I too want to get together soon.  They just announced that there will be a convention here in Atlanta on Sept 8 th I think.  Think you might be able to come?  I was going to ask Amy if she could get Michael Eaks to come put on a meet n greet for us here.  Whe I went to the one in Detroit they didn't have anything social for us.  I had such a grand time in Orlando, especially the afterhours courtyard chat (next time we should wear pj's).  I also check out the FL board daily to see what is happening with my newest "friends".  I saw recently that Frank just got his surgery date.  How exciting.  Hope to talk with you soon. Hugs,

~~~Pat~~~
